Thoughts on 2013—and Happy New Year to All

Welcome to Morobinbarrystories.com! Please join me on twitter @morobinbarry. This site is for all Bee Gee fans everywhere who would like to share and read stories of fun, love, joy and inspiration for Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. (Andy is not forgotten and is included at times). If you’d like to share a story, please email it to me at morobinbarrystories@gmail.com. Stories will be posted weekly, some from my files of collected tales and some from the new stories as they come in. Others I will save for my book, which is in progress.

December 28,2013

There will be no story this week, since we are celebrating the holidays with our families. I would, however, like to comment about 2013 and its surprises.

I have been on my journey with the Gibb brothers since I was a child of 8. I began my story collecting 13 years ago. I started my book in earnest in 2006. It’s only been a year since I took to the social network scene and thrust myself into the world of Bee Gee sites. What has transpired has been a gift beyond my wildest expectations. I’d like to wish a Happy New Year to the sensitive, gentle, enthusiastic and kind fans around the world who show their love for the brothers Gibb every day through their posts and photos and comments. Each is truly a special contributor to the Bee Gee lovefest that occurs daily. For those who are sharing their stories with me, I could not be happier. It is an amazing testament to the power of these talented men, not only from their music but also their dedication to their fans.

There are no words to express the gratitude to Barry Gibb for taking to the stage, both in Australia, New Zealand and the British Isles. In addition, I was able to witness Barry’s appearances in Nashville, both at MTSU and the Opry, and everyone present was electrified by his wonderful performances. The year brought new experiences for Gibb fans, not only from Barry but also from the contributions of Steve and Samantha and all the great musicians involved. Fans look forward to 2014 as the Mythology Tour continues. I think fans would agree with me that Barry’s talent and energy are contagious; and his courage to take to the stage once again with a major tour is appreciated by every fan from Singapore to Germany. I’d like to believe that the feedback he receives gives him encouragement and helps to heal the wounds that he nurses. Indeed,  all fans are still nursing and will always be nursing their wounds because without Robin, Maurice and Andy, the solitary journey is a lonely one for Barry, and we all feel the need to bolster him and be his supporters. We feel the presence of all the brothers and know they are silently there with Barry, each giving his own special gifts and whispering in Barry’s ears as they sit on his shoulders. Also I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Linda, as always, for the way she shows her love for Barry. In addition, fans were thrilled right along with all the Gibbs as the circle of life brought new babies, Talyor Mae and Maxwell, into the world. How fabulous that those Gibb genes are being passed to another generation.

We look forward to the exciting concerts and charity events and all of Barry’s appearances. May 2014 be a year filled with happy moments and lovely memories. As my Gibb journey continues, I pray for strength and guidance and know that Barry is being guided along from above. Let the magic carpet ride continue.
