Welcome to morobinbarrystories! Please join me on twitter @morobinbarry. This site is for Bee Gee fans everywhere who would like to read and share stories of fun, joy, love and inspiration for Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. (Andy is not forgotten and is included at times). If you’d like to share a story, please email it to me at email@example.com. Stories will be posted often and many will appear in my book, which is still in editing. At times, I will post articles about Gibb events, which I hope the fans will enjoy.

No matter what words I use to discuss Dr. Camillo Ricordi and Sir Barry Gibb they will fall short of what these truly distinguished men of honor deserve. In dramatically different fields of expertise, they still come together and present dynamic role models of achievement.
Bee Gee fans worldwide know of Barry’s achievements that span half a century. His continued work in recent years from his wildly successful Mythology Tour, release of a new album, In the Now, and upcoming work on a musical about the life of the Bee Gees, are mind-boggling. However, I believe that he feels most proud of his amazing family and his long marriage to Linda. Anyone associated with the Diabetes Research Institute knows that Barry and Linda’s generous support of this Foundation is also at the top of the list of key successes in a long life of charity work.
I remember writing a story years ago about how the concert for UNICEF in 1979 that was spearheaded by the Bee Gees raised millions of dollars, and Barry and Linda haven’t stopped giving back since.
This year Barry and Linda were Poker Sponsors for the High Rollers Night, and their appearance adds so much more because it brings fans to the event as well and provides great energy and excitement.
In contrast to Barry Gibb, Dr. Camillo Ricordi isn’t a musician or a performer; but he, like Barry, stands far above others in his field as an innovative, brilliant, creative mind with no equal. He is the Stacy Joy Goodman Professor of Surgery, Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami, Florida, where he is the Director of the Diabetes Research Institute.
There are several other titles, and it’s an impressive list, but the bottom line is that he is one of the world’s leading scientists in diabetes cure-focused research. It’s important to remember that the DRI collaborates with other institutions all over the world. Classical trials can be done, which pools the resources. The search for a cure continues throughout what is called “the Federation”. What this means for fans is that whether they live in Germany, Holland, Italy or anywhere else in the world, they can benefit from the collaborative efforts of the DRI.
Anyone interacting with either of these men realizes that they are in the presence of brilliant minds, and the best part is that they are kind and loving human beings. They come together to support a cause, and events like the High Rollers night raise funds so that the researchers can continue their clinical trials.
We should all remember the focus, and to hold on to the hope for a cure. As Dr. Ricordi states, “We will cure diabetes. This is no a prediction;it is a promise.
A thousand thanks to Barry and his family for supporting this cause and to Dr. Ricordi and his entire team for persevering until his prediction comes to fruition. The world is lucky to have all of them and their passionate dedication to stop diabetes in its tracks.
